My name is Ryan and I am a Bible Nerd! Today we dive into Chapter 7 of Luke's Gospel. In this chapter, we encounter the remarkable story of a Roman Centurion and his gravely ill servant. Interestingly, the elders of Israel speak highly of this Roman, despite the generally negative interactions the Israelites had with their oppressors. This Centurion demonstrates a profound respect for the people and acknowledges the authority of Jesus. We'll also explore the touching account of a widow and the funeral of her only son, highlighting the deep compassion Jesus shows in her time of sorrow. Join me as we unpack these powerful passages together!

My name is Ryan and I am a Bible Nerd!  One of my favorite passages in scripture is Ephesians Chapter 6.  I have a canvas in my office that reminds me of this passage. So today I wanted to talk about this powerful and impactful section in verses 10-18: The Armor of God. The Apostle Paul uses this metaphor to illustrate the spiritual tools that Christians are equipped with to defend against the forces of evil and to maintain their faith. Let’s explore each piece in detail! I hope you enjoy it! Please like, comment, and subscribe. May God's peace fill your day!

Well, I am a Bible Nerd and wow did I go down a rabbit hole by reading about the 20 Canons of the Council of Nicaea! Many people know about the Nicene Creed but not as much about the cannons that came about. I thought it would be great to make an episode and a quick overview of the cannons.  There is a lot there and this is an overview but let me know what you think! I enjoy studying early church history!  Come nerd out with me friend!!

My name is Ryan and I am a Bible Nerd! We continued through Luke's Gospel and have made it to Chapter 6.  In verses 1 through 11 we have two stories about breaking what the Pharisees considered things unlawful on the Sabbath which is a day of rest.  The first is when Jesus' disciples are walking down the road and are hungry so the pull the top of some grain and rub it in between their hands to thresh out the wheat. Jesus uses the story in 1st Samuel 21 of when David ate the showbread in the temple so he takes it even further and turns the grain into bread.  Next is the story of Jesus healing the man with a shriveled hand.  Yet the priest missed the miracle.  Then in verses 12 through 19, we have Jesus picking his 12 and we get ready for Luke's account of the Sermon on the Mount.
Break out your bibles and let's review these verses together!  Also, let me know what is your go-to translation.
Hope you enjoy today's episode and will like, subscribe and share.  God Bless!

Ryan here and I am a Bible Nerd! Today I want to talk about a subject that I have spent a lot of time on. The reliability of the Bible and the work that has gone into translating the Bible. The Bible is one of the most influential texts in human history, serving as a spiritual guide, a historical document, and a literary masterpiece for millions of individuals around the world. Yet, amid its profound impact, many people question its reliability and authenticity. In this podcast I want to talk about the four key factors that contribute to the Bible's reliability, including its historical context, manuscript evidence, prophetic accuracy, and the transformative impact it has had on individuals and cultures.

My name is Ryan and I am a Bible Nerd! Today we read Chapter 5 of the Luke's Gospel. In this chapter, we have the story of when Jesus first meets Simon/Peter and performs a great miracle.  Jesus has Petter throw out his nets for a catch after a night of catching nothing and at the wrong time of the day to even be fishing and yet they catch so many fish that the nets start to break. They pull over a second boat and fill both to the point of sinking them both! Peter's reaction to this is that of unworthiness but Jesus calls him to be a Fisher of Man! Also in chapter 5, Jesus heals a leper with the great saying of His willingness to heal! We also have the story of the paralyzed man being let down through the roof to be healed by Jesus and the encounter that Jesus has with the Pharisees.  Lot' going on in Chapter 5 so let's get to nerding out together!
